Latin in everyday life

Etc., P.S., CV, a.m.: you use Latin every day without noticing. Learn what these words and abbreviations mean literally and where you meet them.

1st stage12 to 14 yearsDraft: Not yet checked by a classics teacher.

Why

Under a message to your grandmother you add P.S. I will come by on Sunday. Do you actually know what that P.S. means?

P.S. stands for post scrīptum: after what is written. You put it under a letter when you add something after your signature. It is Latin, just like etc., CV and a.m.

Latin is everywhere: on the poster for a match (Club Brugge vs. Anderlecht), on a price tag (3 euros per piece), in your school planner and in every detective story with an alibi. If you know what these words literally say, you use them more accurately.
